Amber Wind Weather Alert
We are tracking a weather front for strong winds across our whole region and the Met Office has issued an amendment to the likelihood, window and area of impact. The new forecast predicts winds of up to 70mph – impacting northern parts of our region on Friday morning through to 6pm.
We are ready to mobilise colleagues and support to vulnerable customers as this situation develops. This weather front does have the potential to have an impact and cause damage to our network, so there is a possibility that there could be disruption to power supplies in at least some parts of the region. The relevant teams are on standby and ready to be diverted onto storm response should this materialise. We also have a fleet of generators ready to be deployed where they are the most effective way of restoring supplies.
We will continue to keep our customers and stakeholders updated. If the situation changes, we will provide an update.
