Stay Warm
Advice
Do you need energy advice?
Our Energy team is helping people in rural Northumberland to keep warmer, spend less on energy and reduce carbon emissions.
Our Climate Action Officers, Anna Revell and Andrew Beresford, work across rural Northumberland offering advice to reduce your energy use and carbon emissions.
Leanne Shipley, Energy Advice and Engagement Officer, provides advice through the North East Warm Homes project. Giving advice and support to residents and landlords to help boost their home’s energy efficiency.
Our newest member of the team is Maia Welch, joining us a Trainee Community Energy Adviser. We’re excited to have Maia join the Energy Team and look forward to supporting her as she helps residents and communities across Northumberland with practical energy advice and support.
Our advice covers everything from simple, practical ways to save energy and make your home more efficient, to guidance on reducing carbon emissions and exploring renewable energy.
We can help you understand your options, from everyday energy-saving changes to measures such as insulation, low-carbon heating and renewable technologies.
We can also help you find out what grants and funding may be available, making it easier to plan improvements that could save energy, reduce your bills and lower your home’s carbon footprint.
Whatever your starting point, we can help you take the next step.
Our Powering People project is aimed at reducing fuel poverty and supporting the transition of Northumberland’s off-electricity grid households from fossil fuels to sustainable energy solutions. This includes delivering household energy audits and advice, supporting grid connections and renewable installations, facilitating community energy solutions, and contributing to policy advocacy and knowledge exchange.
If you would like to know more about the Powering People project, or you wish to register as ‘off-grid’, please contact our Off Grid Energy Officers, John Bogue and Dave Richardson.
Jake Delacey is responsible for our project offering Retrofit and Energy Assessments for Community Halls (REACH). Jake supports community buildings by advising on energy efficiency improvements and sustainability initiatives.
