Latest Ofgem energy price cap for Jul – Sept 24

Between 1 July to 30 September 2024 the energy price cap is set to be 5.48p per kilowatt hour (kWh) for gas, and 22.36p per kWh for electricity.

This means a typical dual fuel household would see an average bill of £1,568 per year; giving an annual saving of £122 compared to the cap set between April to June 2024.

The price cap means that variable rates are monitored and should not go above the Ofgem set pence per kWh. You do still need to pay for your energy use; the £1,568 is an average bill estimate so if you use more than average you will pay more.

The next Ofgem price cap announcement is due in August.
