Northern Powergrid Foundation – New Funding Round for Community Energy Resilience Projects

The Northern Powergrid Foundation has launched its latest round of grant funding, supporting projects that strengthen energy resilience in communities across the North East, Yorkshire and northern Lincolnshire.

Grants of up to £20,000 are available to help address energy-related challenges. This round places particular focus on community energy resilience, such as the installation of solar panels and battery storage at community hubs, ensuring vital services can continue during power outages or emergency events.

Funding can support the creation or expansion of hubs including village and parish halls, helping them to provide safe, warm spaces for local residents when they are needed most.

Applications should clearly demonstrate:

The community need
Energy resilience benefits
Long-term positive impact

Applications close on 13th October 2025, though the window may close earlier if demand is high.

Further details, including the grant-making policy, FAQs and a step-by-step guide, can be found at northernpowergridfoundation.
