Energy Price Cap changes for the next quarter

Ofgem announced the next round of price cap changes and they will come into effect from the 1st April.

The cost of electricity and gas for a typical household paying by direct debit will go up by 6%, adding £9.25 a month to the typical energy bill.

The price cap breakdown from 1st April until 30th June 25
Fuel type
Unit price (p/kWh)
 Standing Charge
Electricity
27.03 p/kWh
53.8 p/day
Gas
6.99 p/kWh
32.67 p/day

Please note these are price cap levels for those on a standard tariff.

One thing you can do, is to make sure you are on the best tariff by talking to your supplier or by using a comparison website to see the current deals.

And don’t forget – give your supplier a meter reading during the first week of April to ensure you are being charged correctly.
